TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Four former New People’s Army rebels received livelihood assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Kalinga on Nov. 29 as part of the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) for rebel returnees.
The awarding ceremony at the provincial capitol in Barangay Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga was graced by Gov. James Edduba and attended by Lt. Col. Jeffrey Vicente, chief of the Provincial Community Affairs Division (PCAD) of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, and the representative of the DILG -Kalinga, Thyrza Shoey Dogui-is.
The rebel returnees received P20,000 each that would enable them to implement their proposed hog-raising and rice and vegetable retailing livelihood projects.
The E-CLIP is a government program that caters to rebels who return to the fold of the law by providing them with packages of assistance to help them reintegrate into the community.
