P7.1-M shabu seized in Central Visayas


CEBU CITY — Suspected shabu worth P7.1-million was seized while more than 100 drug suspects were arrested in simultaneous police operations in Central Visayas on Sunday, Dec. 18.

A total of 107 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in the region-wide police operations dubbed as Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO).

Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, director of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7), said 1,052 grams of shabu were seized while 131 drug personalities were arrested.

Operations targeting illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of 207 persons, Alba said.

In the campaign against loose firearms, 132 unlicensed firearms and one explosive were seized while 12 persons were arrested.

Alba added that 93 wanted persons were also arrested and 15 of them were listed as most wanted persons.

Alba commended police units under the PRO-7 for another successfull conduct of SACLEO.

“Our achievement would not be possible without the unyielding efforts of everyone,” said Alba.
