The Navotas City government said on Monday, Dec. 19, that it already distributed Christmas hams to total of 37,359 families in the city as of Sunday, Dec. 18.

The ham distribution is the city's annual Christmas “Ham for the Poor” program which aims to distribute a ham or processed pork leg to each family for their Noche Buena (Christmas eve dinner). The first day of distribution was held last Friday, Dec. 16.

It targets to distribute 85,000 hams to the residents until Wednesday, Dec. 21.

It also said it already finished distributing hams to 13 barangays including Daanghari, Tangos North, Tangos South Bangculasi, North Bay Boulevard North and South, Dagat-dagatan Sipac, Barangay Bagumbayan North and South, Navotas East and West and San Rafael Village.

Navotas City Mayor John Reynald "Rey" Tiangco along with city councilors and barangay officials led the distribution of the hams in barangays.

"Lahat po ng barangay ay ating pupuntahan kaya abangan lamang po ang pagdating ng ating distribution teams sa inyong lugar (We will go to all the barangays, so keep posted for the arrival of our distribution teams in your area)," the mayor advised.
