Jealous man kills live-in partner in Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – A man allegedly beat his live-in partner to death out of jealousy in Barangay Palanogan, Mahaplag, Leyte on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Police have launched a manhunt against the suspect, Roseller Oro, a resident of Barangay Palanogan, an interior village.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim, Liezel Dancil, also of Barangay Palanogan, went to the house of the suspect to visit her son and daughter before leaving for Manila on Monday, Dec. 19.

The couple engaged in a heated argument due to alleged jealousy and Oro reportedly hit her head against the wall several time until she lost consciousness.

The suspect instructed his nephew to inform barangay officials who told the father of the victim about the incident.

Responding lawmen found the victim lying on a bamboo bench inside their hut.

She sustained bruises on her face and was brought to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Mahaplag. However, she was declared dead by the attending doctor at about 2:30 a.m.
