CHED renews call for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship applications
Applications for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship program are still open.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), on Monday, Dec. 19, reminded all interested parties to submit their nominations for the Stipendium Hungaricum (SH) Scholarship program.
The program was described by the commission as “ideal,” especially for individuals who are seeking to develop personal and professional ties to Hungary “while gaining high-quality education in the heart of Europe.”
CHED, in a memorandum sent to all its central and regional officer directors as well as the presidents or heads of higher education institutions, said the program will run from 2023 until 2024 in Hungary.
“The scholarship will cover tuition fees for the entire study period, dormitory accommodation assistance, monthly subsistence allowance and medical insurance,” the memorandum read.

In nominating student candidates, officers-in-charge or heads of higher education institutions must submit a letter of nomination together with the required documents on or before Jan. 23, 2023 to the CHED International Affairs Service (IAS).
Apart from this, nominees were likewise instructed to apply online through SH’s website. According to CHED, the deadline of submission of documents at the SH portal is on Jan. 16, 2023.
Interested applicants for bachelor’s master’s, one-tier master’s, and non-degree programmes must submit the following documents: online application form, motivation letter, proof of language proficiency, school certificates, transcript of records, copy of identification document, acceptance statement for application in the online system, as well as a medical certificate.
Doctoral applicants, on the other hand, must submit their research plan and statement of the supervisor apart from the previously mentioned documents.
