The noted fashion designer collaborates with jewelry brand BaroQco for his upcoming show
These days, it is not new to hear that a Filipino designer will be part of major runway presentations happening in the many fashion capitals of the world. In the past years, the global fashion arena has shared the spotlight with local design talents, proving that the works of Filipino designers are world-class. And it looks like the country’s presence in international fashion runways will continue next year, beginning with designer Albert Andrada.

The Filipino fashion designer, who is known for his stunning blue piece worn by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, is heading his way to Paris Haute Couture Week 2023. Albert will be presenting his high fashion creations in a solo show in collaboration with BaroQco, a jewelry maker known for creating crowns for Miss Universe Netherlands, Germany, and Singapore.
According to a news release, the partnership between two well-respected names in the fashion industry is a milestone for the Philippines as it presents a perfect opportunity to showcase Filipino creativity and artistry on the venerable and highly-publicized Paris runway.
Prior to becoming one of the Philippines’ noted designers, Albert first made a name for himself in the Middle East, becoming a favorite designer of the Arab Royal members. He was the appointed designer of the ruling family in Fujairah of the United Arab Emirates. Since then, he became the go-to designer of the Philippines’ most stylish personalities, showcased collections internationally, dressed beauty queens, and mentored budding Filipino fashion designers.
“I don’t think I’ll ever give up designing,” Albert told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle in a past interview. “As long as people still want me, as long as I’m a help to the country as a designer, nothing can stop me.”
The high fashion event is set to happen from Jan. 25 to 26, 2023 at the Westin Paris Vendome.
UPDATE: Albert Andrada’s debut solo show in Paris Fashion Haute Couture 2023 has been rescheduled to July 2023 in time for Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture from July 3 to 6, 2023. The decision to postpone the show was made to ensure that all key elements of the show will reflect the production team’s vision to present the designer’s signature touch and artistic talent. Mounting the show during the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture in July will give the team ample time to present a show that Filipinos can be truly proud of.
