The University of the Philippines student council and Ateneo de Manila University’s Sanggunian are calling all attendees to wear black to protest the revival of mandatory ROTC during the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball finals between their schools.

The do-or-die game is set at 6 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum as both schools look to take home the championship title.

The rebranded National Citizens Service Training (NCST) will require students to complete a two-year program following the House bill’s approval on Thursday, Dec. 15.

“As a stand against Mandatory ROTC and Campus Militarization, we urge Ateneo and UP community to wear black on Monday,” the post wrote.

In Game 2 of the best-of-three finals, a total of 20,616 crowd were in attendance to witness the battle of Katipunan.

The do-or-die is also expected to see the same turnout of supporters from both sides.
