Nearly 300 people nabbed in one-day PNP ops vs illegal drugs, illegal gambling in Central Visayas

Operatives of the Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7) confiscated more than P4 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 100 people in a one-day anti-illegal drugs operations in Central Visayas.

PRO7 director Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba said a total of 627 grams of shabu worth P4.2 million were seized in various areas in Central Visayas from 12:01 a.m. of Dec. 17 to 12:01 a.m. of Dec. 18 in 83 anti-illegal drugs operations.

He said the same aggressive operations were conducted on the same day against illegal gambling that resulted in the arrest of 198 people and confiscation of nearly P18,000 bets.

"We also arrested 91 people who are facing various charges, 15 of them are in the most wanted list," said Alba.

The official said a total of six people were arrested while 55 firearms were seized in the campaign against loose guns.
