Vice President Sara Duterte has been going around the provinces in Luzon for her “Balik Pasasalamat” program this holiday season as she brought Christmas presents to members of Dumagat tribe in Bulacan on Sunday, Dec. 18.

True to the spirit of sharing and giving this season, the official returned to Barangay Kalawakan—the same barangay that she visited during the campaign period—to give 400 "Pamasko packs" to residents.
The packs contained rice and canned goods.
Dante Dela Rosa, 38, a resident of neighboring Brgy. Cabayunan, recalled how he participated in the campaign gathering.
He took the opportunity this time to thank the Vice President for returning, adding that this second visit showed the importance Duterte is giving them.
“Tuwang-tuwa po kami. Masaya po kami kasi binalikan po niya kami hindi lang po noong nangangampanya siya nakarating dito sa lugar namin, maging nang nakaupo na siya, nakarating pa rin po siya dito sa amin (We are very happy. We are happy because she returned and she did not only visit during the campaign, but even when she won, she returned here),” he said.
“Ibig sabihin mahalaga kaming mga katutubong Dumagat sa kanya (It means the Dumagat tribe is important to her),” Dela Rosa added.
Jimmy Cruz, a former chieftain in another sitio, also shared he attended the informal conversation with the then-vice presidential candidate along with his fellow Dumagats.
With Duterte there now, the former chieftain said it made him appreciate her as a leader.
“Siya lang po ang talagang naging totoo sa amin. Si (She’s the only one who’s real to us. It’s) Vice President Sara Duterte. Siya lang po ang bumalik sa amin talaga. Sana po yung pagganap niya at pagtulong sa amin huwag maputol (She’s the only one who returned here. Hopefully, her help to us will not end),” Cruz added.
He shared that Duterte is the only official he can remember who visited the Dumagat tribe.
