Cloudy, rainy across parts of PH due to 'amihan', shear line

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Dec. 18 that parts of the country may experience cloudy and rainy weather due to the prevalence of the northeast monsoon and shear line.
The northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” may bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Quezon.
Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga may also experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line—a boundary line where the cold and warm air masses meet.
PAGASA warned those in areas affected by the amihan and shear line to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Central Luzon may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light amihan rains.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The public is advised to remain vigilant as severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides, especially in areas prone to these hazards.
