Christmas villages light up Zamboanga City barangays

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Zamboanga City barangays started to light up their respective Christmas villages for the holidays.

Ten barangays were awarded on Friday, Dec. 16, in this year’s Inter-Barangay Christmas Village Competition.

The best Christmas Village was that of Barangay Bunguiao which easily won the top award and the P200,000 prize money that went with it.

Barangay Culianan copped second place and P150,000, Manicahan clinched 3rd with P130,000, Maasin took 4th with P120,000 and Talon Talon fifth with P100,000.

Barangays Tetuan, Lumayang, Sinunuc, Talisayan, and Lumbangan won P70,000 each for finishing 6th to 10th places.

Zamboanga City has 98 barangays.

The Inter-Barangay Christmas Village is one of the contests under the Feliz Navidad Festival 2022 by the local government.

The festival was organized by the City Tourism Division.
