Caloocan LGU recognizes outstanding NPD officers

The Caloocan City government gave recognition to the outstanding uniformed personnel of the Northern Police District (NPD).

The awarding ceremony was led by People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) in Caloocan City Hall – South last Dec. 13.

At least 19 police officers were given a certificate of commendation for the success of the entrapment operation they conducted last Oct. 18, which resulted in the arrest of Ruben Bonifacio Gabagat, 67, who violated Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code or estafa and 172 of the Revised Penal Code or falsification by private individual and use of falsified documents.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan lauded the police officers for their immediate action in arresting the said suspect.

“Ang inyong mabilis na pag-aksyon upang mahuli at hindi na muling makapambiktima ang suspek na nagpapanggap bilang isang abogado para mangikil ng pera sa kapwa, ay tunay na kahanga-hanga, (Your swift action to catch and prevent the suspect who pretends to be a lawyer to extort money from others is truly commendable),” the mayor said.

“Hindi po natin papayagan ang anumang uri ng pang lalamang o pagsasamantala sa ating lungsod (We will not allow any kind of exploitation in our city),” added Malapitan.

PLEB Officer in Charge Atty. Benjamin Roque, meanwhile, also assured they will not stop prioritizing the needs of the uniformed personnel as well as conducting training and seminars to capacitate them in providing services to the public.
