Binangonan, Angono, Morong and Teresa towns in Rizal province are among the 29 local government units in Region 4-A that bagged the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award 2022.
Binangonan Municipal Administrator Russel Ynares told Manila Bulletin that the people of Binangonan along with Mayor Cesar Ynares and all the local officials in the lakeshore municipality in Rizal were grateful to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for this year’s citation.
Mayor Ynares, together his fellow town officials, personally received the certificate from DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, Jr. during a recent awarding ceremony at the Manila Hotel.
To be a recipient of the annual DILG citation, the local government units must pass the stringent SGLG parameters on the aspect of financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts; and youth development.
The SGLG awardees received the Incentive Fund to finance the local development initiatives in support of national goals and strategic thrusts.
Administrator Ynares said the concerted effort of the town officials, employees, police, barangay and the private sector in Binangonan for good governance has produced results that benefit the entire town.
Rizal province, led by Governor Nina Ricci Alcantara Ynares-Chiongbian, was the only recipient of the DILG seal in Region 4-A this year.
