Will Navarro out for the remainder of season with ACL tear
Will Navarro’s short but splendid rookie season came to an abrupt end.

The NorthPort rookie hurt his knee during Game 2 of their quarterfinals game against Barangay Ginebra and it turned out to be the injury that he and the Batang Pier feared as MRI results confirmed that he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee.
Navarro is expected to be sidelined for at least a year which forces him out for the rest of his rookie season and as well as his Gilas Pilipinas duties.
The 6-foot-6 forward sustained the injury late in the opening frame when he appeared to have twisted his right knee on his own while trying to contest Jamie Malonzo’s transition attack.
Navarro never returned in that game and finished with 10 points after anchoring the blistering start for the Batang Pier who went on to lose the contest and the series, 99-93.
The injury was also a huge dampener to Navarro’s impressive start in his PBA career after averaging 16.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in the six games in the elimination, helping NorthPort to a sixth seed finish.
He also showed that he truly belongs to the big league putting up his best performance of 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting along with 17 rebounds and nine assists in NorthPort's 112-97 triumph over Converge in the eliminations.
Navarro missed the entire Philippine Cup due to his national team duties and after attempting to play in the Korean Basketball League which was subsequently denied after failing to get a clearance from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
He then opted to sign with NorthPort on a two-conference deal and joined the team in the middle of the Commissioner’s Cup forming a potent combination with Batang Pier star Robert Bolick and new acquisition Arvin Tolentino.
