The local government of Malabon City held a gift-giving activity dubbed “Project Angel Tree” for 100 children and their parents at Malabon Citisquare Entertainment Center on Thursday. Dec. 15.
“Ngayong araw, nakibahagi tayo sa Project Angel Tree Gift Giving Activity upang handugan ng munting pamasko ang 100 nating kabataan kasama ng kanilang mga magulang (Today, we participated in Project Angel Tree Gift Giving Activity to give a little Christmas gift to 100 of our youth with their parents),” Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
The Project Angel Tree is a gift-giving activity for child laborers in cities and municipalities.
It is a project initiated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the local government units.
“Ikinatutuwa nating maging parte ng proyekto at maipadama sa ating kabataan ang saya at sigla ng pagiging bata. Ipinagpapasalamat din natin ang tagumpay ng proyekto sa Malabon Tripartite Industrial Peace Council at MC Square Entertainment Center (We are glad to be part of the project to make our children feel the joy of being kids. We also thank the Malabon Tripartite Industrial Peace Council and MC Square Entertainment Center for the success of the project),” added Sandoval.
The children accepted gift packs containing school supplies, grocery items, and rice.
Aside from gift packs, the children also received meals and free passes to the rides at the amusement center in MC Square.
A clown show was also organized to entertain the children and the parents who attended the event.
