CAMP GENERAL FRANCISCO S. MACABULOS, Tarlac City -- A 62-year-old former rebel operating in the mountainous area of Tarlac, Zambales and Sierra Madre voluntarily surrendered to authorities, a police report said on Friday, Dec. 16.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Dennis C Wenceslao, Force Commander of 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company Tarlac, said that the voluntary surrender of the 62-year-old resident of Brgy. San Jose, Mayantoc, Tarlac was facilitated by the joint personnel of 1st PMFC-Tarlac, Intel Officer together with other law enforcement units.
The subject person whose name was withheld for security reasonpersonally submitted himself and handed a homemade shotgun and hand grenade.
The former rebel is now under tactical interview for documentation while the surrendered firearm and explosives were placed under the custody of 1st PMFC for proper disposition.
