A couple of years ago we covered the Devialet Phantom, an impressive but expensive speaker that brings out all the best notes from your favorite music. Not too long ago, Devialet launched a new portable version of their impressive but expensive speakers, called the Mania, because this little thing sounds crazy for its size.
The sound quality is a given here. There's an extra "oomph" in there for the bass, and it does deliver powerful outputs. For most people out there, the Devialet Mania will sound nice and incredible. But what’s pretty cool about this is how it scans the room and adjusts how it projects its sound. Basically, if you put the Mania on a shelf surrounded by its own little walls, the speaker will produce less sound in that direction and focus more on the more open areas, providing more powerful audio.
In US dollars, the Devialet Mania is $790, which is approximately P44,000 as of writing this article. Inside are four microphones that would allow the Mania to automatically adjust its output. There are also motion sensors so it will know when it has been moved. The microphones can also be used to voice assistants, and connectivity includes WiFi, Bluetooth 5, AirPlay 2, and Spotify.
It is IPX4 and the battery is said to last about 10 hours, which sounds all right for travelling.
