The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the northeast monsoon and shear line will be the dominant weather systems that will bring cloudy skies across the entire archipelago next week.
In its weekly weather outlook released on Friday, Dec. 16, PAGASA said the eastern section of the country will have cloudy skies with light rains, while the rest of the country will be mostly cloudy with passing light rains in the next few hours.
By Saturday, Dec. 17, Luzon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” while Visayas and Mindanao will be mostly cloudy skies with passing light rains.
From Sunday to Friday, Dec. 18 to 23, PAGASA said the entire archipelago will have mostly cloudy to cloudy and rainy weather, with rains becoming frequent in Southern Luzon and Visayas due to the combined effect of the northeast monsoon and shear line.
“Updates through weather advisories will be issued if there are significant changes in the weather scenario,” PAGASA said.
