Stamp responds to Denice Zamboanga: Tell her to beat Ham Seo Hee first

Third-ranked atomweight contender Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga doubled-down on her intentions to fight only the best by calling out her pal and top-ranked Stamp Fairtex.  

Fresh off a convincing decision win over Lin Heqin, Zamboanga quickly turned her attention to her former training partner about a potential showdown, explaining that she’s already met everyone in the rankings except for the former two-sport ONE World Champion in Stamp.  

“It’s because I already fought most of the top five. She’s now ranked number one. I want to get back to my number one spot,” she said.  

The callout doesn’t stem from animosity, because even though Zamboanga’s back in the Philippines now, she still sees the Thai superstar as a dear friend – and not even a mixed martial arts match will change that.  

“Yes, it’s very difficult to call out a friend, of course. With Stamp, I love her, but this is business. It’s all about business, it’s nothing personal,” she said.  

“Of course . We love each other, she knows it.” 

However, Stamp isn’t too keen on the idea, at least not yet.  

While Stamp sits atop the rankings, Zamboanga just recently got back to winning ways after losing to Ham Seo Hee twice. So, the Thai superstar thinks “The Menace” needs to start with the South Korean. 

“Tell her to beat Ham Seo Hee first,” Stamp said. “She lost to her twice. Beat her first, then let’s talk.” 

Stamp can’t also afford to focus on other fights right now because she’s scheduled for a massive mixed rules super-fight against striking star Anissa Meksen at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov on 14 January at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.  

The pair will tangle in a bout that will alternate between mixed martial arts and Muay Thai rules, similar to what Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Demetrious Johnson did back at ONE X.
