What port closure?
The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has clarified that no port in the country will be closed during the Christmas season.
PPA General Manager Jay Santiago said all ports in the country will be on a 24/7 operations to meet the expected increase of passengers who would go to their home provinces to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
In fact, he said all leaves of PPA employees were even cancelled to maximize the number of personnel in all ports.
Santiago issued a clarification after a popular shipping company posted on its social media account about the closure of Manila and Batangas port for Christmas and New Year.
"The advisory made for its passengers was wrong. All ports will continue their operation during peak season," said Santiago.
The shipping company has already corrected its advisory.
