The Pasay City government is offering livelihood training to residents who want to earn extra income this Christmas season.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government offers training on silk screen printing, food processing, meat processing, oriental food processing, no-bake goodies, and soap-making.
Rubiano said 50 residents will be accommodated in each of the six livelihood training on a “first come, first served” basis to be held at the Tatay Duay Training Center.
She said the livelihood training was launched on Thursday, Dec. 15, offering the silk screen printing program from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The mayor said interested participants for food processing in producing pineapple-papaya jam, pickled amplaya, embutido, and Spanish sardines may join the scheduled training on Dec. 16.
Rubiano said training on meat processing will be held on Dec. 17 like pork tocino, skinless longganisa, hamburger paties, and pear shaped ham.
She said Dec. 19 will be for the oriental food processing and those interested will be given tutorial on how to make siomao, Mongolian spring roll, kimchi, and okonomiyaki.
Residents who want to learn to make no-bake goodies can participate on Dec. 20 and they will be given seminar on how to make brownies, choco rum bars, crunchy peanut squares, and graham balls.
The mayor said the last training being offered by the city government will be on Dec. 21 on soap-making. Rubiano said participants will be given lectures on making transparent herbal soap, multi-purpose detergent, liquid dishwashing soap, and fabric conditioner.
