PPA prioritizes digitization


Digitization is the highest priority of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) at present, General Manager Jay Santiago said.

"Once everything is done online, prolonged waiting of passengers will be avoided and inconvenience at trips will be prevented," he underscored.

The PPA management staunchly believes digitization will speed up port transactions and curb corruption, to the benefit of port users nationwide.

"Let's revive the economy through digitalization, this is a big step for the continuous improvement of government services," the GM exhorted.

"We at PPA, are ready to streamline every transaction at ports and eliminate third-party operators or fixers," Santiago added.

Already, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) allocated P12.47 billion for the digital transformation of all government transactions.
