This was confirmed Wednesday morning (Philippine time), Dec. 14 by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who is currently in Brussels, Belgium together with the Chief Executive.

"The president I believe has confirmed his visit to Switzerland, to Davos, where he was invited by no less than the noted professor Klaus Schwab," Romualdez told Manila-based reporters.

Marcos and Romualdez met with WEF Executive Chairman Schwab last month during the 40th and 41st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and related summits in Cambodia. It was at the event when Schwab invited the Philippine leader to the January 2023 forum.

Romualdez recalled the meeting with Schwab, who had good things to say about the Philippines.

" has said to me personally when I bumped into him in Phnom Phen in the ASEAN, he says your country is doing quite well in fact we’ve seen the growth numbers and it’s quite positive and we would like to hear the Philippine story in Davos," he said.

"And I believe from his (Schwab) presentation and the invitation to the President, he would like to highlight the President’s economic policies, what the Philippines is doing and why it’s one of the leaders in the ASEAN," added the Leyte 1st district congressman.

Romualdez had earlier described Marcos as the "rockstar" among the region's leaders.
