Gallup Korea names top 10 movie stars who stood out in 2022
Polling firm Gallup Korea has released the results of its annual Person of the Year survey to pick the TV drama stars, movie stars, sports players and entertainment broadcasters in South Korea who shone in 2022.
This year, Gallup Korea conducted a survey among 1,771 Koreans aged 13 and older nationwide excluding Jeju Island from Nov. 7 to 24.

The respondents were asked to name Korean movie stars who shone in 2022.
“Squid Game” actor Lee Jung-jae, who starred in his first directorial film debut “Hunt,” took first place for the second straight year with 34.4 percent.
Ma Dong-seok of “Train to Busan,” who starred in the blockbuster Korean film “The Roundup,” took second place with 18.8 percent.
“Parasite” actor Song Kang-ho placed third with 13.5 percent. He won best actor at the 75th Cannes Film Festival for “Broker.”
In fourth place with 7.7 percent is Youn Yuh-jung, who won the Oscar best supporting actress in 2021 for “Minari,”
Actor Hwang Jung-min of “Narco-Saints” and Jung Woo-sung of “Hunt” tied for fifth place with 6.5 percent.
Lee Byung-hun of the film “Emergency Declaration” ranked seventh with 6 percent followed by Hyun Bin in eighth place with 5.5 percent and Yoo Hae-jin of “Confidential Assignment 2: International” with 5.2 percent.
Actor Son Suk-ku of “The Roundup” took 10th place with 5 percent.
Others who figured in the survey were Ha Jung-woo (4.4 percent), Kim Hye-soo (3.1 percent), Park Hae-il (2.1 percent), Choi Min-sik (1.9 percent), Gong Yoo (1.8 percent), Han Seok-kyu (1.3 percent) and Ahn Sung-ki (1.2 percent).
