DOLE 2 logged over 61,000 new employees since November

A total of 61,169 job applicants were given employment this year, according to the report of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 2 on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

DOLE Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales said that as of November, they logged a 95.25 percent placement rate out of 64,220 referrals for placement.

He said the figure overflowed their 80 percent target for the year 2022.

The figure includes the 10,389 beneficiaries assisted under the Government Internship Program (GIP), with P158.6 million in funds disbursed.

Also included were the 8,094 beneficiaries assisted through the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) with P32.2 million in funding.
