Biotech company celebrates its 60th year in the Philippines

Bayer, a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, celebrated its 60th year in the Philippines with the inauguration of its PhP 750-million Next Normal Office Concept (NNOC)-based office in McKinley Hill Cyberpark, Taguig City, last November 24, 2022.
“We are celebrating our 60th year with a PHP 750-million new office investment from where we will continue to deliver our innovative products, solutions, and services for Filipino farmers, patients, and consumers. This is in line with Bayer’s vision of Health for All, Hunger for None,” said Angel Michael Evangelista, Bayer Philippines Managing Director, and Country Division Head for Pharmaceuticals.
During the opening, Bayer also highlighted its flagship Bayer Kubo Program, which primarily aims to encourage and support communities to grow their own produce through an integrated approach to growing nutritional food using responsible agricultural practices. The company partnered with the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST Asia) in supporting smallholder farming communities through capacity-building programs around health, nutrition, and farming-related financial management.
Through the program, Bayer aims to provide in-depth training to over 100 women farmers, who will then be local leaders training additional 1,500 members of the community.
“With the growing role of women in Philippine agriculture, who are often challenged to care for both the home and the field, we’re supporting women farmers, farmers’ wives’, their families, and the community through various initiatives around health, wellness, and sustainable agricultural practices,” said Evangelista.
