The 2022 Asia Artist Awards (AAA) ceremony was held on Dec. 13 in Nagoya, Japan, which saw a smorgasbord of prizes given away to singers and actors.
The AAA was divided into two categories: actor and singer.
Overall, six groups and persons received the grand prize (“daesang”). Under the actor category, 2PM’s Lee Junho, who starred in the drama “The Red Sleeve,” won the grand prize for Actor of the Year.
In the singer category, five grand prizes were awarded. Rookie girl group NewJeans bagged the Performance of the Year while Seventeen took home the Singer of the Year.
IVE’s “Love Dive” won Song of the Year while Stray Kids took home the Album of the Year and trot singer Lim Young-woong grabbed the Stage of the Year.
Actor Kim Seon-ho won four awards: Best Choice Award, Asian Celebrity Award, Idol Plus Popularity Award, and DCM Popularity Award.
“It’s an honor just to be here. I’ve been thinking about ‘when will I be the happiest’ while preparing for a new project these days. From the beginning, as an actor, the happiest time is when I’m acting. I thought it was thanks to the people who supported and visited me. They are the people who make me happy, and I will return more sincerely and cherish them from now on. I will show you a good image in the future. I will stand upright as a good person and actor," he said.
