Will DepED launch its own e-learning platform ahead of plans to institutionalize blended learning?
Is the Department of Education (DepED) eyeing the creation of their own e-learning platform ahead of the proposed institutionalization of blended learning modality?
Earlier in 2022, DepED aired its plans to institutionalize blended learning, an approach to education that combines both virtual and traditional classroom-based learning, to address the ongoing problem of classroom shortage in the country.

According to Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos “agreed that a plan should be made” in terms of institutionalizing the blended modality in specific schools and areas with “special circumstances.”
In relation to this, the education chief was asked if the agency is planning to create an application or a platform to make blended learning convenient to learners and educators alike.
“Depende yan sa mapag-uusapan ng ating technical working group sa institutionalization ng blended learning (That depends on what the decision of our technical working group will be regarding the institutionalization of blended learning),” said Duterte on Tuesday, Dec. 13 during the inspection of free Fiber Optic Internet Connection and Free WiFi Program in Pinaglabanan Elementary School.
“Ang kukunin natin ay yung pinaka the best para sa ating (What we will take is what’s best for our learners),” she furthered.
