The government is eyeing to add more labor attaches worldwide as President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. vows to protect the Filipino migrant workers.
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Susan "Toots" Ople made the announcement as she joined Marcos in meeting the Filipino community in Brussels, Belgium at the sidelines of the ASEAN-EU Summit.
Ople said the government will look at where they could deploy more attaches in Europe.
"Next year may budget na tayo. Makakatulong na kami nang husto sa inyo. Magdadagdag kami ng mga office ng labor attaches natin (Next year, we will already have a budget. We can finally help you. We will add more office for our labor attaches)," she told the overseas Filipinos on Monday (Belgium time).
She also said that the government is already laying out plans to help the migrant workers get back to the country for good, in line with Marcos' vision.
"'Yung mga gustong mag-invest, tuturuan natin. Ang partner natin ay Department of Trade and Industry at saka iyong (Those who want to invest, we will help them. Our partner is DTI and) Go Negosyo," she said, adding that the departments of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform and Information and Communications Technology will also support and provide opportunities to those who want to venture into such fields.
