Eight drug pushers busted in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Eight drug personalities were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Cordillera from Dec. 4 to Dec 10.

Brig. General Mafelino Bazar, director of the Police Regional Office- Cordillera, said that based the Regional Operations Division (ROD), the Baguio City Police Office has arrested five drug personalities while Abra Police Provincial Office, Benguet PPO and Kalinga PPO have arrested one drug personality each.

In Baguio City, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Richard Geronimo, 34; Manalo Mariano III, 52; Bobby Dolorican, 39; Jackson Amandy, 37; and a 17-year-old male minor.

Arrested in Abra was Reynaldo Pensayo, 53, while Janrry Sorinio, 26, was arrested in Benguet, and Axell Bitanga, 25, in Kalinga.

The weeklong anti-illegal drugs operation has also resulted in the seizure of a total of 5.17 grams of shabu with an aggregate price of P35,156.

All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
