A total of 791 new Covid-19 cases were detected on Tuesday, Dec. 13, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

Active cases nationwide were at 18,016, the latest DOH data showed.

The National Capital Region logged the most number of cases in the last two weeks with 5,594.

It was followed by Calabarzon with 2,331; Central Luzon with 1,124; Cagayan Valley with 760; and Western Visayas with 738.

With the detection of new cases, the running tally of cases stood at 4,050,866. This includes the tally of recoveries at 3,967,929, while the death toll was at 64,921.

Meanwhile, the DOH said there is no need to panic despite the recent uptick in cases. Nationally, the number of cases is six percent higher than cases in the previous two weeks, said DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire

Vergeire said that the country's healthcare utilization rate remains at low risk.

“Wala ho tayong kailangang ipag-panic. Hindi natin kailangan mag-panic. Alam na ho natin that expectedly, cases will be here, cases might increase, maaaring tumaas, bababa," she said in a press briefing.

"But as long as our hospitals are okay, manageable, walang tumataas na admission na kailangang bantayan talaga, walang masyadong severe at critical, hindi ho natin kailangang panic," she added.
