DICT launches 10 free WiFi sites in Pagadian City


Ten additional free WiFi sites were launched in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Among DICT’s initiatives, its Free WiFi for All (FW4A) program aims to provide Filipinos the access to "opportunities, education, and information, and the ability to participate in the growing digital economy" through free Internet in public places across the country.

“ in accordance with Republic Act 10292 or the Free Internet Access in Public Places Act,” said DICT Zamboanga Peninsula on Monday, Dec. 12.

The newly-launched free WiFi sites were mounted in the following offices in Pagadian: Land Transportation Office, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, BFP Pagadian, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Fire Protection, Professional Regulation Commission, Dumagoc Barangay Hall, Pagadian City’s Plaza Luz, Pagadian City Library, and Philippine Information Agency.

The free WiFi sites, according to DICT, was ceremonially launched during the Paglulunsad, Pagkilala, at Pasasalamat Year End Celebration of the agency held on Monday, Dec. 12.
