PRO7 director Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba attributed the success of peace and order in Central Visayas to the intensified police-community relations and partnership with various stakeholders in the region.

"The decrease in crime statistical data by 10.65 percent proves that PRO7's crime prevention efforts and strategies are effective," said Alba.

A total of 17 Police Regional Offices were evaluated by both the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) and the DIDM.

Alba said the PRO7 acquired 79.99 percent and ranked number one among 17 regional police offices.

From January to Dec. 9 this year, the PRO7 reported 3,633 focus crimes which significantly dropped by 10.65 percent, or 433 cases compared to last year with 4,066.

The PRO7 also led the campaign against illegal drugs with the biggest amount of illegal drugs confiscated from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30 among 17 police regional offices.

Of the 5,556 anti-illegal drug operations conducted, arrested were 6,767 drug personalities confiscating total estimated amount of P866,163,348.52 of illegal drugs.

These include 125, 63.29 grams of shabu, 81,415.49 grams of Marijuana dried leaves, 25 grams of full grown marijuana plants, and 0.25 grams of cocaine.

Also, five suspected illegal drugs personalities died during the operation.

"The past months have seen how Team PNP Region 7 make significant strides toward the goal of increased coordination between our partner agencies and stakeholders in the community," said Alba.

"The programs and projects initiated by our Chief PNP (Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr.) made us all aligned with our goal which is to make Central Visayas a safer place to live, work and do business," he added.
