21 online gamblers arrested in separate anti-illegal gambling operations in Laguna
CAMP BGEN. VICENTE LIM, Laguna -- Twenty-one individuals were arrested in separate police operations conducted by Laguna Police Intelligence Unit, San Pedro City Police Station and Biñan City Police Station against illegal gambling on Monday, Dec. 12, Police Regional Office CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, RIZAL, Quezon) reported here on Tuesday.
Seven individuals operating an online casino were arrested during the conduct of entrapment operation by members of Laguna Provincial Intelligence Unit and San Pedro City Police Station at Barangay Pacita 1, San Pedro City, Laguna.
Recovered pieces of evidence were seven sets of computer desktop, two routers, different cellphones and bet money.
Suspects were identified as Kim Quirante Dizon, Mary Therese Hermogeno Ventocilla, Dan Ralph Panopio Villa, Kent Paul Dria Claveria, Darwin Carpio Alcoba, Jeezreel Evangilista Palma and Stephan Paclibar Gallardo.
In the City of Biñan, 14 illegal online casino operators were arrested by members of Biñan CPS in a similar operation at Southville Town and Country in Brgy. Sto Tomas, Biñan City, Laguna.
Recovered were seven sets of computer desktops, two wireless routers, 11 sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia.
Suspects were identified as Heinrich Dela Peña De Leon, Jhundel Olores Garcia, Denzel Jerico Hipolito Rollon, Japhet Caribido Lumpas, Edward Lumpas Villaluna, Jonathan Pandan Purification, John Rich Mapalad Chua, Borgy Padilla Lebrudo, Christian Jay Gilbuena Vierneza, Bren Austin Palingjon Eugenio, Lester Mapanoo Gilbuena, Robert John Silva Laosantos, Alumia De Guzman and John Charllone Abas Ceniza.
Suspects are now facing charges for violation of P.D.1602 plus Anti-Gambling Law as amended by R.A. 9287), R.A. 8484 (Access Device Regulation Act) and R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
PRO-CALABARZON regional director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr. commended the members of San Pedro City and Biñan City Police Stations for the successful conduct of anti-gambling operations that led to the arrest of 21 individuals and confiscation of online gambling equipment.
He also reiterated the ‘No Take Policy’ from illegal gambling to all operating personnel including unit commanders and Chiefs of Police.
“Isa lamang itong pagpapatunay na ang PRO-CALABARZON ay seryoso sa aming kampanya laban sa ilegal na sugal at maging sa mga nauusong online gambling platforms o online casino,” said Nartatez Jr.
“Sa mga unit commanders at COPs lalong lalo na sa mga operatiba huwag na ninyong subukan na pumatong sa mga illegal na gawain lalo na sa gambling dahil hindi ko kukunsintihin ang mga maling gawain at sisiguraduhin kong mananagot kayo sa batas," warned Nartatez.
