Fifteen Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) captains were promoted to the rank of commodore, giving them their first star rank.
In a statement Tuesday, Dec. 13, PCG Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu said the promotion of the general and technical line officers were approved by Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin reported to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Sec. Jaime Bautista the approval of Marcos for the promotion of PCG officers through a transmittal paper from the Office of the President dated Dec. 9.
Promoted were new Commos. Christopher Meniado, commander of Coast Guard District Palawan; Dominador Senador, chief of staff of Maritime Safety Services Command; Algier Ricafrente, deputy chief of Coast Guard Staff for International Affairs; Geronimo Tuvilla, commander of Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao; Fideles Sallidao, director of National Operations Center for Oil Pollution;
Romeo Pullido Jr., commander of Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas; Rejard Marfe, commander of Coast Guard District Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM); Geoffrey Espaldon, deputy chief of Coast Guard Staff for Logistics; Prudencio Patricio Jr., commander of Coast Guard Infrastructure Development Service; Jay Tristan Tarriela, deputy chief of Coast Guard Staff for Human Resource Management;
Vincent Bingbong Fiesta, commander of Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon; Fedelyn Santos, director of Leadership and Doctrine Development Command; Alexis Calderon, commander of Coast Guard Medical Service; Lysamyra Marie Gavan, commander of Coast Guard Nursing Service; and Lowie Palines, commander of Coast Guard Ecumenical Chaplain Service.
“The PCG is now coordinating with the Office of the President and the Office of the DOTr Secretary for the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-promoted Coast Guard one-star generals,” the PCG said.
