PH Red Cross, UP President's Office join forces for blood donation drive
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) conducted a bloodletting activity in partnership with the University of the Philippines (UP) Office of the President, Philippine Association of University Women - UP Chapter, NowhereToGoButUP Foundation Inc., and SamaSamaTulongTulong volunteer group.

It was held last Dec. 9 at the Palma Hall in UP Diliman and collected 558 blood units.
"Your volunteerism as blood donors will definitely help save the lives of our fellow Filipinos during medical emergencies," said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon.
Atty. Gaby Concepcion from the UP College of Law led the UP team during the blood donation drive with the theme, "Maroon Love for Christmas."
PRC Secretary-General Gwendolyn T. Pang and Assistant Secretary-General Monina Nalupta were also present at the event and discussed the importance of blood donations.
In a statement, PRC said it has already generated 375,110 blood units from Jan. 1 to Dec. 9, serving 235,064 patients during the same period.
"For blood donations, blood requests, and other inquiries, email the PRC National Blood Services at [email protected] or contact the PRC Blood Call Center, which may be reached nationwide by dialing 143," the organization said.
PRC has 31 blood centers and 71 blood collection units across the country.
