ILOILO CITY – MORE Electric and Power Corp. has unveiled a customized mobile power substation here.

MORE Power said the country’s first mobile substation was assembled by Turkish company Aktif Elektroteknik and made in Germany and Italy.
Its acquisition was part of MORE Power’s five-year rehabilitation plan to modernize facilities from Panay Electric Co. (PECO) early in 2020 after the company was granted a 25-year franchise as the sole power distributor in this city.
With a maximum 36 megavolt ampere (MVA) power transformer, the substation will be switched on in January when MORE Power starts rehabilitating the Molo District facility.
“This mobile substation will ensure that power will not be interrupted during the rehabilitation process,” said Engr. Wilmar Gonzaludo, MORE Power project manager for substations.
Gonzaludo said that once the rehabilitation of the Molo facility is finished, the substation will be rotated to other districts here. After Molo, it will go to Mandurriao and planned to be housed in the Jaro District.
Gonzaludo was joined in the unveiling by Engr. Paterno Cabangisan, assistant vice president for project and development, and Engr. John Dave Jabatan, supervisor for project control and administration.
