President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has designated former Piddig, Ilocos Norte mayor Eduardo Guillen as the acting administrator of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).
Malacañang confirmed that Guillen took his oath as acting administrator and member of NIA Board of Directors on Monday, Dec. 12.
He will be replacing Benny Antiporda, who is under suspension by the Office of the Ombudsman over complaints of alleged grave misconduct.
Guillen's designation came almost a month after Marcos met with NIA officials to discuss the situation. The President then ensured that NIA's functions are not disrupted following the six-month suspension of its then administrator.
