Pinoy pride!

After her eye-catching character as Abigail in Ruben Östlund's comedy-satire film "Triangle of Sadness," Dolly De Leon secured her first international nomination for best supporting actress at the Satellite Awards in the US given by the International Press Academy last Dec. 8.

Dolly is competing against Angela Bassett ("Black Panther: Wakanda Forever"), Jean Smart ("Babylon"), Kerry Condon ("The Banshees of Inisherin"), Claire Foy ("Women Talking"), and Jamie Lee Curtis ("Everything Everywhere All at Once").

With the overwhelming success of "Triangle of Sadness," Dolly's performance in the film has made her a potential nominee at the academy awards.

During her interview at the QCinema opening ceremony back in November, Dolly shared that she hopes for the best during her campaign for the official Oscars nomination.

"Ang dami pa po kasing pwedeng mangyari, kasi November pa lang and meron pa tayong dalawang buwan, so baka may bagong pang pumasok hindi natin alam pero sana makapasok po tayo," she said, during an interview last month.

(A lot of things can still happen because we're still in November, and we still have two months to go. Maybe they'll be new nominees that will come, we'll never know, but I do hope that we can still make it).

Aside from her best-supporting actress nomination, "Triangle of Sadness" was nominated for best motion picture, and best original screenplay by director Ruben Östlund.
