Actress Carmi Martin has recalled her encounter with a star who came late to the set several years ago.
"It happened a long time ago. May ginagawa akong soap sa ABS-CBN noon at ilang beses niya itong nangyari," said Carmi, during the grand press conference of the upcoming 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival entry entitled "My Teacher" held at the Winford Hotel in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Monday, Dec. 12.
(It happened a long time ago. I was doing a soap at ABS-CBN then and it happened several times.)

She continued: "Tapos nung dumating siya, hindi man lang siya nag-so-sorry or nagbibigay pugay man lang sa mga beteranong artista.
(Then when the star came, the star didn't even apologize or pay tribute to the veteran actors.)
"Isang araw, na-award ko. Sabi ko, 'ang tagal-tagal mo kanina ka pa namin inaantay.' Then sinabi niya na kasi raw dapat yung road manager dapat daw nag-report or ganito raw dapat. Tapos magka-eksena kami parang hindi ko siya tinarayan. We're just being professional sa set."
(One day, I called the star's attention. I said, 'we've been waiting for you for so long.' Then the star said that it's because the road manager should have reported or something like this. Then we had a scene together as if I didn't insult the star. We're just being professional on set."

Asked if the celebrity is still popular, Carmi said: "Hindi na masyado." (Not much).
Carmi, 59, pointed out that movie stars should value professionalism and time.
"Isang secret talaga is being professional and yung pagpapahalaga sa time. Yung lost time hindi mo na maibabalik yun at dapat talaga nakikisama ka.
(A real secret is being professional and valuing time. You can't get that lost time back and you really should be getting along.)

"Tama nga yung sinabi ni direk na dumating ka on time, alam mo ang dialogue mo, and role mo. Wala akong pakialam kung ano ang paglabas mo sa shooting. Pero mas maganda siyempre kung magaling kang makisama," she added.
(It's true what the director said that you should arrive on time, you should know your dialogue, and your role. We don't care how you come out of the shooting. But of course it's better if you get along well.)
Directed by Paul Soriano, "My Teacher" stars Toni Gonzaga and Joey de Leon. It will be shown beginning Christmas Day.
