Police arrested three men who attacked two brothers and rounded up seven illegal gamblers in separate operations in Bulacan on Sunday, Dec. 11.
Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said the prompt response of Sta. Maria police led to the arrest of three of the four persons who killed a man and wounded the latter’s brother in Barangay Tumana, Sta Maria, Bulacan at around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police identified the arrested slay suspects as Allan Quinao, 31; Ronnie Begornia, 38; and Rizaldy Ruiz, 33. Their cohort, Aguiela Quinao, is still at large.
Based on police investigation, the two victims, identified as Ramon and his sibling Rolan, had just accompanied their friend Eddie to his house after a drinking spree when they crossed path with the suspects who were apparently under the influence of liquor.
Reportedly, the suspects suddenly assaulted the victims. Ramon died after being stabbed several times by Quinao who is now the subject of a police manhunt.
Rolan sustained stab wounds in the right palm, right leg, and other body injuries.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Kaypian City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM), four persons were arrested by the authorities during a “tupada” or illegal cockfighting.
Likewise, Pandi police arrested three persons engaged in illegal cockfighting in Mapulang Lupa, Pandi, Bulacan.
Recovered during the anti-gambling operations were fighting cocks, gaffs, and bet money.
Arnedo said the Bulacan Police’s anti-criminality campaign and anti-illegal gambling drive are in line with the directives of Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar R. Pasiwen.
