The theme was Coachella and all the employees and volunteers clapped and cheered when the Vice President of the Philippines, Sara Duterte, came out in her ravishing outfit fit to become star of the night.
In her speech to her employees and volunteers of her office, she said in humor, “Sa totoo lang nahirapan talaga ako maghanap ng Coachella outfit that will comply to the dress protocol of public servants attending events- no sleeveless, no plunging, no shorts….but I wanted to be on theme.”
This is the reason VP Sara wore a skin-tone undergarment beneath her crop top to cover her sexy belly. Her crop top t-shirt has the words “Stay Weird” spelled in bold letters. Then she turned serious in her Christmas message to her staff and volunteers, “Christmas is the time for love, forgiveness and sharing…Hindi importante na hindi malaki o magarbo ang ating celebration ng Pasko. Ang importante po ay masaya tayo at masaya ang ating mga mahal sa buhay at ating pamilya…”
True to her message, the Office of the Vice President Christmas party was not held in a posh hotel, it was celebrated with cheers and happiness in the confines of their office in Mandaluyong City.
There were no big celebrities or bands, just volunteers like me to host the event. There were a lot of prizes which were donated by friends, some cash prizes that the kind Vice President shelled out from her own pockets for game prizes and raffle to the enjoyment of her staff and volunteers. She even brought her son Stingray and both joined in the party games.
Probably the best takeaway I got from this party is VP Sara’s message of forgiveness during this Yuletide. “Christmas is a time of forgiveness. Sana mahanap natin sa puso natin na magpatawad sa mga tao na gumawa ng mali o may kasalanan sa atin. Yan talaga yung tema ng pasko — pagmamahal, pagpapatawad, pagbibigay, kindness. Yan din yung message natin sa ating mga kababayan dahil ang pananawagan natin ay unity kaya meron ding kalakip 'yon ng pagpapatawad hindi lang sa pulitika but even sa personal lives natin— working together with our neighbors, with our officemates, with our family."
