An alleged drug den maintainer and his four cohorts were arrested by members of the Southern Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit (SPD-DEU) during a drug-bust operation in Las Pinas on Saturday, Dec. 10.
SPD director Brig. Gen. John Brion Kraft identified the suspects as John Paul Nartea Rosales, alias Ivan, 18, a high-value individual tagged as the drug den maintainer; Philip Bombales Lumapas Jr, 18; Lhennard Badoy Rusiana, 22, a delivery boy; Prince Ivan Bacud Gabrinao, 22; and Carl Spencer Asaytono Dequinon, 23, a construction worker.
Kraft said the four other suspects were tagged as street-value individuals. Lumapas Jr. was under probation for drug charges at the time of his arrest.
The SPD director said members of the SPD-DEU dismantled the drug-den allegedly being maintained by Rosales around 4:20 a.m. in Brgy Aldana, Las Piñas City.
Kraft said the cops confiscated from the suspects 28 grams of shabu worth P190,400 and 550 grams of dried marijuana leaves with a market value of P66,000.
He said the SPD-DEU operatives also confiscated one .38-caliber revolver with four live ammunition, one LV sling bag, and the P1,000 buy-bust money.
The SPD chief said the suspects are all detained at the DEU custodial facility and were charged with illegal possession of drugs.
“Dismantling of drug den is considered a high-impact operation as drug dens are breeding ground of violence and criminality and disrupt peace and order in the community. Kaya ating binabati ang ating mga operatiba sa kanilang sipag at dedikasyon laban sa pagsugpo sa ilegal na droga. (I commend the DEU operatives for their hard work and dedication),” Kraft said.
