The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that three more sites were included for the pilot testing of its Register Anywhere Project (RAP).

The RAP will also be conducted in Robinson’s Mall Tacloban in Barangay Baras Baras, Tacloban City; SM City Legazpi in Legazpi City, Albay; and Robinson’s Mall Naga in Naga City, Camarines Sur, said Comelec Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco in a statement.

Earlier, the Comelec said it is set to pilot test the RAP in five malls in Metro Manila.

These are SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, SM Fairview in Quezon City, SM Southmall in Las Piñas City, Robinson’s Place Manila, and Robinson’s Galleria in Quezon City.

Comelec said that the RAP will start on Dec. 17, 2022 until Jan. 22, 2023 every Saturday and Sunday, except Dec. 24, 25, and 31, 2022 as well as Jan. 1, 2023.

Meanwhile, the poll body said that the RAP will also be held in some government agencies. These include the Senate of the Philippines in Pasay City on Jan. 25, 2023, while the exact date is yet to be announced for the House of Representatives in Quezon City and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Main Office in Pasay City.

Last November, the Comelec said that any qualified applicants residing anywhere in the country can register at the RAP booths.

“They may submit their application form, documentary requirements, and have their biometrics taken on-site,” the Comelec then said.

The submitted documents and captured biometrics data shall then be endorsed and transmitted by the recipient RAP teams to the district, city, or municipality with jurisdiction over the residence of the applicants for requisite verification, publication or posting, and Election Registration Board (ERB) Hearing, it added.
