Ayala Malls brings back live shows this Christmas 2022
By MB Lifestyle
It’s the comeback of Christmas as we know it—big, bright, and full of delights! The crowds are coming to Ayala Malls, once again, for a December to remember after a two-year hiatus of live shows.
The country’s leading lifestyle mall is bringing more entertainment on stage from OPM concerts to ballet recitals. The mall gardens, facades, and hallways are all decked with glitter and tinsel to complete the festive atmosphere. Towering Christmas trees, sparkling lights, and Nutcracker-themed décor fill the spaces with cheer and wonder, building optimism for the New Year to come.
"Ayala Malls is home for some of the most memorable holiday celebrations. Not only are we a shopping and dining destination, but we are also a hub for live entertainment and activities that bring families and friends together," says Ayala Malls President Christopher Maglanoc. "We believe in the magic that live performances bring, from gathering fans all over the Metro to seeing them enjoy the beauty of shared experiences."

Our very own tunes
ALive! continues to bring established and up-coming local artists back to the spotlight. The concert series, which is produced by Ayala Malls in partnership with various record labels for this series, this month features Warner Music talents this December starting with indie rock/jazz fusion band, SUD, in Capitol Central on December 16; and modern rock-funk-pop, Lola Amour, in Bonifacio High Street on Dec. 17.

Island Disk”
The rocker-holiday spirit doesn’t end there! More shows are coming your way in early 2023 with Warner Music’s girl-duo, Leanne & Naara, and Universal Music Group’s now-solo artist, Blaster Silonga, who is set to promote his debut solo album My Kosmik Island Disk.

"Ayala Malls and ALive! have played a key role in bringing back live music nationwide. Along with our artists Lola Amour, SUD, and Leanne & Naara, we are grateful to the Ayala Malls team for supporting and giving Filipino music a platform," shares Warner Music Philippines Brand Partnership, Sync & Touring Director Celine Ferros.
After years of streaming online concerts, Ayala Malls reintroduced many local acts on stage through ALive! since early 2022. The lineup of performers included Viva Entertainment’s Arthur Nery, Adie, Unique Salonga, and The Juans; Sony Music’s Nobita; Universal Music Group’s Zach Tabudlo and Blaster Silonga; Warner Music’s Leanne & Naara, SUD, and Lola Amour; and Happy Plays Music Festivals’ headliners Sandwich, 6cyclemind, Moonstar88, Imago, and Gracenote.
"Nothing beats physical live performances in front of the crowd," adds Viva Entertainment founder and Chairman Vic del Rosario. "Ayala Malls is the perfect venue for the comeback of face-to-face performances because of its controlled environment and convenient accessibility."

A Touch of Christmas Nostalgia
Looking for something the whole family can enjoy, from grandparents to the little ones? Nothing conjures Christmas more than the classic tale of The Nutcracker. Step Dance Studio’s The Nutcracker ballet is currently touring Ayala Malls until Dec. 18. In partnership with Pandora, Ayala Malls presents the classic tale of Clara, who journeys with the Nutcracker against the Mouse King. The imaginative and wondrous setting of The Nutcracker makes it a timeless story that captures even the youth. Retold from generation to generation, the show comes to life once again on the remaining dates: Dec. 10 at Ayala Center Cebu; Dec. 11 at Alabang Town Center, Dec. 17 at Ayala Malls Manila Bay; and Dec. 18 at Glorietta.

In staging the The Nutcracker, Ayala Malls’ event partner, Pandora, is setting up charm-filled pop-up vignettes at every location of the mall tour. Dazzling elements like Pandora Christmas trees allow mallgoers to take selfies with the décor as a festive backdrop.

Christmas All Around Ayala
The Pandora Christmas tree is only one out of many snap-worthy installations in Ayala Malls where they put up their own twist to the holiday symbol. For instance, the Glorietta Christmas tree is decked with gigantic ornaments, ribbons, and wrapped boxes for a familiar yet modern look; while Market! Market! spotlights “Paskong Pinoy” through an ancestral house-inspired Christmas tree filled with parols. Abreeza Mall also gives homage to Filipino culture and resilience with its unique Christmas tree built entirely with bamboo.
