LAGAYAN, Abra -- Christmas came early for this 97-year-old grandmother who became a recipient of a housing project from members of the Abra Police Provincial Office.

Col. Maly Cula, provincial director, said Rosela Pescador, a resident of Brgy. Honey in this town has been given a house unit courtesy of the Abra PPO members.
Cula said Lola Rosela has been living in a hut made only of bamboo and its foundation is no longer strong and could collapse anytime.
Lola Rosela can no longer work properly because of her old age. Adding to her concern is his grandson who is disabled.
With the endorsement of the barangay officials, Lola Rosela was chosen by the Abra PPO to be its recipient of its noble project.
In order to provide a proper and comfortable place for Lola Rosela and her grandson, a simple turn-over and blessing were done on December 5, with Col. Cula, together with Lagayan Mayor Edmarc Crisologo and Rev. Fr. Manolito Baroña gracing the occasion.
Apart from the new house, the police also gave the grandparents grocery packs, rice and other necessities.
The grandparents are very grateful for the help they received from the police.
