5 arrested in Pasay City drug buy-bust operation

Members of the Southern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (SPD-DEU) conducted a drug buy-bust operation in Pasay City leading to the arrest of three suspects on Nov. 30.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Brion Kraft identified the arrested suspects as Joy Aragon Parangan, alias Kim, 44; Alain, 24; and Celso Wing Valdez, 20.

Kraft said the suspects were arrested around 9:20 p.m. along Road 4, Pildera 2, Barangay 193, Pasay City.

He said members of the SPD- DEU were able to confiscate from the suspects four plastic sachets weighing 30 grams and worth ₱204,000.

He said the seized pieces of evidence were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for analysis while the suspects were brought to the SPD-DDEU office for documentation and were charged for illegal possession of drugs.

Meanwhile, two street level individuals listed in the drug watchlist were arrested during the conduct of a one-time, big-time operation by members of the Pasay City police.

Col. Byron Tabernilla, city police chief, identified the suspects as John Peter Rañon Salaver, alis Dilat, 23, a delivery rider and subject of the buy-bust operation, and John Hubert Marvilla Jr., 23.

Tabernilla said the suspects were arrested around 1:00 a.m. along Tramo Street, Brgy. 46 Zone 6, Pasay City.

He said members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit were able to confiscate from them 24 plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves worth P3,000.

The city police chief said the confiscated items were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for analysis.

Tabernilla said the suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and were charged for illegal possession of drugs.
