Cavite robbery suspect arrested after leaving wallet, ID at crime scene


NAIC, Cavite – A man was arrested after allegedly robbing a supermarket in Barangay Ibayo Silangan and leaving behind his wallet and identification card.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, the Naic Municipal Police Station (MPS) received a report on a robbery incident that transpired at around 11:00 p.m. on Dec. 7.

The suspect reportedly cut a hole on the roof of the store, scaled down to the shop's office, and forcibly opened the vault to steal the cash amounting to P15,000.

During the investigation, operatives found a black wallet with an identification card as they searched the supermarket premises. They confirmed that it belonged to the suspect when they reviewed the CCTV footage.

The Naic MPS launched a follow-up operation at the suspect's residence in Barangay Pulang Lupa, Las Piñas City, which led to his arrest.

The suspect is now under the custody of Naic MPS.

Police Regional Office 4A Director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the Cavite police for the immediate arrest of the suspect reportedly responsible for a series of robbery incidents in the region and in the National Capital Region.

In a statement, Nartatez said the suspect is possibly not working alone and called on citizens to coordinate with authorities if they have information about the suspect's accomplices.
