The Taguig City government has started the distribution of groceries and rice to families under its “Pamaskong Handog” program.
On Dec. 5, city officials went to Barangays San Miguel, Bambang, Tuktukan, Ibayo-Tipas and Ligid-Tipas to distribute the goods.
Each “Pamaskong Handog” contained a Noche Buena package of canned goods, cheese, pancake mix, fruit cocktail, chocolate biscuits, pasta, spaghetti sauce and 10 kilos of rice.
"Tanggapin po ninyo ang mga kaloob ng ating lungsod. Ang Pamaskong Handog ay simbolo ng diwa ng pagmamalasakit, pagbibigayan, at pagmamahal (Please accept the gift from the city. This Pamaskong Handog symbolizes the spirit of caring, giving and loving),” said Mayor Lani Cayetano.
The Pamaskong Handog package for households with senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women will be delivered to their homes for their comfort and safety, the city government said.
"Ipanalangin natin sa Panginoon ang patuloy na pagpapala para sa katuparan ng matayog na pangarap ng bawat pamilyang Taguigueno. Ipagpasalamat natin ang pagsilang ni Kristo: ito ang tunay na regalo natin ngayong Pasko (Let us pray to the Lord our continued blessings for the realization of the dreams of every Taguigeuno family. Let us be thankful for the birth of Jesus Christ: this is the true gift this Christmas)," the mayor added.
