The former Smokey Mountain singer Jeffrey Hidalgo broke his silence on rumors that he is dating his former Smokey Mountain singer Geneva Cruz.
In an exclusive interview with Gossip Girl the singer turned actor-director reveals: “We kinda tried, pero hindi talaga. But this was decades ago. Geneva was my graduation ball date. When we were teenagers, I courted her. Nanligaw ako sa kanya kaso binasted niya ako. Again this was 20 years ago. Today we are just best friends who are very comfortable with each other. We travel together, we both love Boracay which is the reason why you always see beach pictures of us in Gen’s Instagram account all the time.”
When asked if they sleep on the same bed, Jeffrey said: “No we don’t. But when the hotel reservations are full, sometimes we sleep in the same room with separate beds. She never travels without her daughter. They sleep together in one bed and I sleep on a separate bed. That’s how comfortable we are with each other. Geneva trusts me and I respect her. That’s how solid our friendship is. In fact when she was offered by GMA7 to do a television project that required her to do some sexy scenes, she only agreed if I was the director because she trusts me.”
The International Film Festival Manhattan best director for 2022 Jeffrey Hidalgo is back in acting and when I asked him what it felt like to be acting again he said: “It’s kinda surreal Giselle, ‘Deleter’ is my biggest plot-twist for 2022. My manager Lou Gopez knows this, I have been focused on directing for the longest time but since I signed up with Viva they have been giving me really good acting projects that I cannot say no to especially to this movie ‘Deleter’ which will be my biggest break as an actor. Sab nga ni direk Mik (Red) without any spoilers, I play a very pivotal role.”
“Deleter” is the official entry of Viva Films for the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival which stars Philippine Multimedia Princess, Nadine Lustre, together with Louise Delos Reyes, and McCoy De Leon.
This is directed by the award-winning director Mikhail Red. “Deleter is all about the content moderation industry, and I play the boss of Nadine and Louise who are deleters. Deleters are content moderators, they delete scenes in a video content so that other final viewers don't get to see what the director doesn’t want the final viewer to see for example bloopers or wrong angles, or content may be too long, etc. Basically an editor of videos. A death occurs in the film and the whole story revolves around it. This is a techno-horror film and we really want you to watch it because of the story and the way it was filmed. As a director, I would like to give a slow clap to direk Mik for his treatment of this movie. Hands down, Idol!” Jeffrey shares with Gossip Girl.
Recently, the actor-director received a directing award from the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) for his movie “Lagpas Langit.”
Jeffrey said: “This film is really personal to me. It’s valuable and memorable that is why apart from Vivamax it deserves a wider audience that is why we submit it to festivals like IFMM and Facine (Filipino International Film Festival).”
“Lagpas Langit” is written by the award-winning writer Racquel Villavicencio. It stars two of the greatest actors in the Philippines, Ricky Davao and Baron Geisler , and two upcoming actresses Christine Bermas and Chloe Gena. “This film is really special to me because my manager Lou Gopez produced it together with Dennis Marasigan. Grabe ang struggles namin to have it made.”
“Deleter” will be shown in cinemas on Dec. 25.
